Introduction to Wheel Throwing

Service Description

This private hands-on workshop offers a guided introduction to the art of wheel throwing. You’ll begin by getting acquainted with the clay and learning fundamental techniques: centering, opening, and pulling the walls to shape your vessel. With close individual guidance you will create 1–3 pieces — perhaps a small bowl, cup, or petite vase — and enjoy the satisfying experience of forming them on the wheel. After the workshop, we will take care of the finishing touches: trimming, bisque firing, glazing, and high temperature firing your pieces. When they emerge from the kiln, they’ll be ready for you to collect, use, and treasure.
